Zig Zag Recycled Plastic Soap Dish - Van'ish

£19.00

SKU 3011

This recycled plastic soap dish has been made from recycled yoghurt pots from the community and specifically from the Salt House bottle shop in Brockley. The yoghurt pot sold in Salt House was the inspiration for this colour combination.

The plastics in these soap dishes were delivered by hand to the shop, further minimising the carbon footprint of our communities waste.

Each soap dish is the equivalent to approximately 2 large milk bottles and the lids worth of plastic.

Whilst the Zig Zag is stunning, it was chosen for practical reasons. This shape will hold your soap above the draining water, keeping it as dry as possible, and ensuring your soap lasts. Unlike bamboo dishes which go mouldy over time, or ceramic dishes that break, this plastic dish will last a very long time and will not go mouldy.

Every dish will be slightly different and unique to you, as no dish is the same.

This dish is versatile, with many different uses. Firstly yes a soap dish, but can also be used to house your sponge and dish brush, your jewellery and make up brushes. Although we've had many people buy these for many other uses.

Every purchase supports the mission to recycle directly from the community, within the community. Reducing the mileage from our waste, ensuring it doesn't join the 2/3 of plastic that is shipped overseas. And we can guarantee that all of the plastic sent to us is recycled.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

Redesigning London’s plastic waste - Müll transforms trash into treasure.

Müll Club actively recycles plastic directly from their South East London community and transforms the waste plastic into long life beautiful products. Müll is a new form of activism, tackling the plastic pollution crisis, one yoghurt pot at a time. Currently only 12% of the plastic waste created in the UK, is actually recycled here. Frustrated with waiting for a failing government to implement effective change the team at Müll decided to take matters into their hands. The plastic waste is collected from the community and recycled within the community, reducing the carbon footprint of our waste in comparison to the miles and miles added onto traditional recycling systems. Each product is unique, and beautiful in its own way due to the marbling effect caused through this specific recycling process. Recycling can be creative and fun.
